Poetry Planting is a community project which shares poems in a personal and individual way. Planters write out poems they love on paper and leave them where someone will find them. It’s an anonymous exercise, with only the poet acknowledged. Anyone can become a Planter, regardless of their location or the languages they read.
I launched this project in October 2015 by hiding 100 poems in Berlin. Each planted poem included a link to the Poetry Planting website, so people who find poems can share their experiences or get involved. My hope is that, over time, there'll be Planters located around the world, offering people unexpected encounters with poetry.
