Treasures from the Thames

Picture
Recently orphaned Dorothy and Miles have been sent to live with their tyrannical Uncle Bertram, who forces them to work in his pawnshop. Their opportunity to escape to Scotland - where their loving grandmother lives - arrives when they find a valuable locked in the mud of the Thames. But how will they find a way to return the locket to its owner and claim the reward when they don't know who she is? Even if they do manage to get her address, the corrupt Constable Owens is never far away...

Published by Klett Verlag in June 2018, Treasures from the Thames is an English reader for German-speaking children.

I acknowledge the Gadigal people of the Eora nation, the Traditional Owners of the land on which I work, and all Traditional Owners of Country throughout Australia. I recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' continuing connection to land, place, sky, waters and community. I pay my respects to their cultures, Country and Elders past, present and emerging, and to Australia's first storytellers.
